Privacy Policy
Version 2026-11-06 · Draft for legal review
This policy explains how Dry Lightning Labs LLC ("we", "us") handles personal information in Teequence: the app golf instructors use to run their lesson business, and the booking and "My lessons" pages their students use.
In short: instructors use Teequence to manage their own students. We store that information to run the service, never sell it, never use it for advertising, and delete it when asked.
Who's responsible for what
- Instructors' own account information (name, sign-in, subscription): we are responsible for it.
- Student information (names, contact details, lesson notes, videos and payments): the instructor decides what to keep and how to use it, and we process it on their behalf to provide the service. If you're a student, your instructor is your first contact. You can also contact us directly.
What we collect
From instructors
- Account details: name, email, phone, photo, bio, booking link, time zone, sign-in provider (Apple, Google or email).
- Subscription status from the App Store or Google Play (through RevenueCat). We never see your card details.
- Calendar busy times, if you turn on calendar sync. We only receive start and end times, never event titles, attendees or details. For Google Calendar we also create a separate "Teequence lessons" calendar to add your lessons to.
- Device push notification token, if you allow notifications.
About students (added by the student when booking, or by their instructor)
- Name, email and/or mobile number. Whether they opted in to texts.
- Lesson bookings, cancellations, package sessions and payment status (amounts and method only; Teequence never processes payments).
- Lesson summaries, practice plans, progress measurements (like handicap or club speed) and goals, written by the instructor.
- Swing videos recorded by the instructor, with their drawings and notes.
- The instructor's private notes, which are never shown to the student.
About Junior students and their parents or guardians
- The student's name and date of birth, and the parent's or guardian's name, email, mobile and relationship.
- The signed parental consent (the name typed, the date and the version of the form).
Automatically
- Basic technical logs (such as IP address and browser) kept by our hosting providers for security and reliability. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To run the service: show booking pages and open times, create and manage bookings, and send confirmations, reminders, summaries, plans and shared videos.
- To keep accounts secure, prevent abuse (for example, limits on how often links can be requested) and fix problems.
- To provide plan features and keep track of usage limits (such as text allowances and video storage).
- To communicate with instructors about their account and important changes.
We don't sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, or use student information to market to students.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
Teequence is for adults. Lessons for children are booked by a parent or guardian through the Junior booking flow.
- We collect a child's information (name, date of birth, lesson information and swing video) only after a parent or guardian has given consent through the consent form. Communication about the child goes to the parent.
- Videos of Junior students are shared only through the parent's private "My lessons" page, never by public link.
- A parent can review their child's information on the "My lessons" page, ask the instructor or us to delete it, and withdraw consent at any time by contacting the instructor or support@teequence.com.
- [Lawyer review: confirm that the consent method meets COPPA's "verifiable parental consent" requirement for under-13s, and whether additional steps are needed.]
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run Teequence for us, under contracts that limit them to providing their service:
| Provider | What for |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in, file storage and server functions |
| Vercel | Hosting the booking and student pages |
| Resend | Sending email |
| Twilio | Sending texts (only to people who opted in) |
| Mux | Storing and streaming swing videos |
| RevenueCat, Apple, Google | Subscriptions and payments for instructors |
| Expo | Delivering push notifications to instructors |
| Calendar sync, if the instructor connects it |
Students' information is visible to their instructor and, if the instructor belongs to an academy, to the academy's owner (read-only). We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of people using Teequence.
How long we keep it
We keep information while the instructor's account is active. When an instructor deletes their account, their data is deleted, including their students' information and videos (removed from our video provider at the same time). Backups age out within [30] days. Archived videos are deleted from our video provider immediately; their notes stay in the student's history until deleted. Message delivery logs are kept for [12] months.
Your choices and rights
- Instructors can edit their profile, export revenue records (on plans that include it), delete students, and delete their whole account in the app (Profile › Delete account).
- Students and parents can see their lessons and shared content on their "My lessons" page and ask for their information to be deleted there. The instructor is notified and deletes it. You can also email support@teequence.com.
- Texts: reply STOP to stop texts at any time.
- Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your information, and not to be discriminated against for using them. Contact us to make a request; we'll verify it and respond within the time the law requires.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Each instructor's data is kept separate by database rules that are enforced on the server. Booking, cancellation, consent and "My lessons" links are long random codes that we store only in hashed form. Calendar sign-in tokens are encrypted. Videos play only through links that expire after a few hours. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.
Where it's stored
Our providers store information in the United States [confirm Supabase region]. If you use Teequence from outside the US, your information is transferred there.
Changes
If we change this policy in a material way, we'll tell instructors in the app and update the version date above.
