Terms of Service
Version 2026-11-06 · Draft for legal review
These terms are an agreement between you and Dry Lightning Labs LLC ("Dry Lightning Labs", "we", "us"), the maker of Teequence. They cover the Teequence app for golf instructors and the booking pages and student pages we host for you (together, the "Service"). By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. What Teequence is
Teequence helps independent golf instructors run their lesson business: online booking, a student list, lesson notes, swing video, practice plans, reminders and payment tracking. You run your own business; we provide software. We are not a party to your lessons or to any agreement between you and your students.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract.
- Keep your sign-in details secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- Give accurate information, including the contact details shown to students who need to reach you.
- Your booking link (handle) is yours while your account is active. Once you've generated a QR code, an old handle keeps redirecting to your new one.
3. Subscriptions and the free trial
- New accounts start with a 14-day free trial of Professional. No payment details are needed for the trial.
- Paid plans (Starter, Professional, Academy) are monthly subscriptions bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. They renew automatically until you cancel in your store account settings, at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Billing, refunds and cancellations are handled by Apple or Google under their terms. We can't issue store refunds ourselves.
- Plan limits (active students, texts per month, video storage, number of instructors) are described in the app. If you move to a plan with lower limits, nothing is deleted; the lower limits apply to new students and uploads.
- If your subscription ends, your account becomes read-only: your data stays, your booking page stops taking new bookings, and existing bookings and reminders continue.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. The change applies from your next renewal.
4. Academy accounts
- An academy owner can invite instructors. An instructor joins only by entering the owner's invite code in their own app.
- Joining an academy lets its owner see your schedule, students, lesson notes and revenue. The owner can't change your data. The owner's subscription covers you while you're a member.
- You can leave an academy at any time, and the owner can remove you. After leaving you keep your account and data, and you'll need your own subscription.
5. Your students and your responsibilities
You are responsible for your relationship with your students, including:
- having a lawful basis to store their details and lesson information in Teequence, and telling them how you use it;
- getting a parent's or guardian's consent for students under 18, using the Junior consent flow, before lessons, recording video or sending messages about a child;
- only texting students who opted in, and honouring opt-outs (Teequence records STOP replies automatically);
- the prices you charge and how you collect payment (Teequence tracks payments but never processes them);
- your lessons, including safety, insurance, qualifications and any licences required where you teach;
- recording and sharing swing video only with appropriate consent.
6. Your content
- "Your content" means everything you or your students put into the Service: profiles, student details, notes, summaries, plans, videos and drawings.
- You own your content. You give us a licence to host, copy, process, transmit and display it only as needed to run the Service for you (for example, to show your booking page, send reminders, or stream a video you shared with a student).
- We don't sell your content or your students' information, and we don't use it for advertising.
- You can export your revenue records (on plans that include it) and delete students or your whole account at any time in the app.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to:
- break the law, or send spam or unsolicited texts;
- upload content you don't have the rights or consent to share, or content that is harmful or abusive;
- try to access other instructors' data, probe or disrupt the Service, or get around plan limits;
- resell the Service or build a competing product from it.
We may suspend accounts that put students, other users or the Service at risk.
8. Third-party services
The Service uses providers such as Apple and Google (sign-in, payments, calendars), Supabase (database and hosting), Vercel (web hosting), Resend (email), Twilio (texts), Mux (video) and Expo (app notifications). Your use of the Google or Apple calendar features is also subject to those companies' terms.
9. Ending your account
- You can delete your account in the app (Profile › Delete account). This permanently deletes your profile, students, bookings, notes, videos and payment records, removes your videos from our video provider and disconnects Google Calendar. Deleting your account doesn't cancel your App Store or Google Play subscription; cancel that in your store settings first.
- We may end or suspend the Service for you if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, with notice where reasonable.
- Sections 6 (licence ends when your content is deleted), 10, 11, 12 and 13 survive termination.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it reliable, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every message will be delivered, or that calendar sync will always be current. Keep your own records of anything critical to your business.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Dry Lightning Labs won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or lost profits or revenue. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. [Lawyer review: confirm caps and carve-outs.]
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Dry Lightning Labs against claims arising from your lessons, your content, your dealings with students, or your breach of these terms or the law.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. [Lawyer review: venue, arbitration and class-action waiver, if any.]
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you'll be asked to accept the new version. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
